JOB DESCRIPTION

Pant & Wag: DC Dog Adventures and DC Dog Fitness in the neighborhood of Georgetown in Washington DC, is now seeking athletic and reliable individuals for it's Canine Fitness Coach positions. As a Canine Fitness Coach you'll be responsible for taking a fun group of dogs and exercising them at different 'dog-centric' locations for one hour. It's like working as a dog walker except instead of walking the dogs around the block, you'll be a dog runner, dog hiker, and dog adventure lead out in nature. PAY

$25 per hour (driving position) or $20 per hour (non-driving position). You'll be paid by the hour, including the time it takes to get between each client! This will make your wage significantly higher than other dog walking jobs or app-based jobs such as Wag! or Rover who only pay for dog-walking time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • You need to be able to run and hike some fairly strenuous trails for at least an hour straight (up to five miles), while handling up to five or six awesome dogs and carrying water and other supplies. Previous dog walking, dog daycare, or pet sitting experience is helpful but not required.


  • The driving position requires a valid driver's license, a car insurance policy under your name, a relatively clean driving record, and to be comfortable driving a minivan through the city (including parallel parking).
    The non-driving position requires you to be at one of our pick-up points (near Dupont Circle, Georgetown, or Glover Park) on time, every time.


  • The work hours that have the most demand generally have a start time between 10:30am-12:30pm, Monday-Friday. The total amount of time each adventure takes is usually between 2 - 3.5 hours (including travel time.) You'll be paid $20-$25 per hour, including the time it takes to get between each client! This will make your wage significantly higher than other dog walker jobs or app-based work such as Wag! or Rover who only pay for dog-walking time.


  • You need to be consistent and reliable on the days you agree to work.


  • We will train you with both hands-on instruction and at-home study via webinars. You have to pass a test within three weeks.


  • You must have a cell phone that can send/receive emails, texts, access and sync with various Google products (Fit, contacts, calendar, et. al.), and take pictures and videos.


  • You will need recently new and good trail/running shoes.


  • Must submit to criminal background checks.


  • Willing to sign non-compete, non-disclosure, and independent contractor contracts.


  • Able and WILLING to handle ALL weather conditions.


  • You must be honest, courteous, reliable, punctual, and flexible.


  • Must have a GOOD, POSITIVE WORK ETHIC and a GREAT UPBEAT ATTITUDE.


  • Be attentive to detail and follow detailed instructions and/or clients requests.
