Hill Climb

Hill Climbing for Canine Fitness

The hill climb and descent is a rugged and vigorous workout for your DC dog. We will walk and run up and down some of the steepest hills we can find. The upward trials provide an excellent strengthening workout for your dog's hocks, thighs, and hips, while the downward path focuses on the his whithers, shoulders and forearms. The uneven nature of the trails will help your DC dog increase his balance and agility, while the constant movement provides an exceptional aerobic workout.

A weighted doggy back-pack may be used to intensify the work-out and to give your dog a sense of purpose. For an even more advanced exercise, the hill climb and descent is often combined with dog hiking.

For the safety of your dog and as required by law, he or she will never be off-leash while in a national park. Water breaks will also be made whenever appropriate to avoid over-exertion.

While
doggy daycare in Washington DC and dog walkers use a 'cookie-cutter' approach and treat all dogs the same, Pant & Wag fitness programs are developed exclusively for your dog.

Sign-up today to get your dog hiking in a unique, enjoyable, and highly beneficial aerobic manner.
